i saw a video on youtube by nicole nadire, who recounted her decisions made along her ~3.5 year transition journey (from male to female) and she mentioned being grateful her dr (powers (*)) that he adviced her to wait ~2 years until starting progesterone, to let her breasts get a good start. she explained that taking progesterone too early results in too fast breast growth according to dr powers, and that "the little bulb in there will not develop correctly". i've heard about progesterone terminating ducts but this is the first time i hear about "too fast" breast growth being something caused by progesterone? usually i've read that progesterone slows the progress down but ensures the breast develops wholly and not just in a cone-like projection. and 2 years of hrt until starting progesterone? the usual tip is to wait until budding has happened and then start prog. 2 years seems pretty conservative?

does anyone have any more information about this? what is "too fast breast growth" and how does progesterone cause this when introduced earlier than 2 years into hrt?

this is the video, around 8 minutes she talks about progesterone. https://youtu.be/xgzuS3EJ7kA?t=478
i just want to make everyone aware of a situation that might hit others as well and which is not discussed.

As a male you have generally lower estrogen levels by nature.
Lupus is a genetic condition that is linked to estrogen.
9 out of 10 patients are female for a reason.

So if you shift your hormones more in the direction of estrogen, it can and will happen that the lupus will bloom.
You will never know Lupus at all if you keep your male hormone levels.

For those who do not know Lupus, its a auto immune disease.
It can affect nearly any organ, also your brain, heart, kidneys, liver, etc. and it will lead to death if not treated.

So please consider this and check Lupus symptoms when start and keep track of how your body might change.

I was been thinking about taking Red Reishi Mushroom and Green Tea to lower my DHT levels without killing my Testosterone so as to not permanently damage my fertility while getting rid of most of the bad effects of being male quite frankly. My main worry is this could cause health issues without replacing with estrogen, especially for my bone density.

Has anyone had experience with this, and if this is the case, would it be possible to supplement with only a tiny amount of PM or something of the like to offset the health issues caused?

Hi lovelies

This has been a topic of interest for me for a while.
I don't have much pre-cum (none at all, to maybe a drop), unless I strain on the toiled while passing a bowel movement (rarely causes precum).

What makes it more likely to occur, is taking the Pygeum herb. This is well known for a lot of men.

Why does this work to increase precum?
I've not found anything reliable online when searching!
There seems to be no knowledge on what causes the Cowper's gland to produce it, nor how to increase production.

Coming back to Pygeum, the notes I have:
- reduces the level of DHT
- reduces Prolactin levels
- block the accumulation of cholesterol in the prostate
- reduces the number of sites where DHT can attach
- inhibits 5-alpha reductase
- contains phytosterols

What of the above, causes the increase of precum / increase of activity of the Cowper's gland?

I found this:
"A neglected gland: a review of Cowper's gland"
If Cowper's is under the control of DHT, then why does reducing DHT via Pygeum classically increase precum production?

Hi Lotus

Just been looking over some DHT notes you did a while ago.

You are basically saying (forgive me, not had a chance to read it all) that we should use 5-ar inhibitors to lower DHT, so we have more estrogen for NBE, and more free T for libido.

But I've heard (and possibly experienced myself) post-finesteride syndrome (me: via pygeum) that dropped my libido to an extreme level. Nothing but anecdotal evidence sadly.

What might be the mechanism for this? Your notes and some reading I've done in the past suggest this should be ok - decrease DHT, increase free T, and you get more libido. But some people suggest that higher DHT is better for libido (I've experienced much larger flacid hangs after a few days/weeks of Butea Suberba, which is supposed to increase DHT), and there are some people (mostly on Reddit) that say that DHT is not needed in the male body at all past puberty.

Would be fascinated by your thoughts.

Testosterone serum 343 (normal range 264-916) so it looks like I’m already on the low end

Estradiol 32.2 (normal range 7.6-42.6) so I’m on the high end

LH and FSH serum were marked as high are almost double the high end of the normal range.

Can anyone help me interpret these results and see what the best course might be? Like many, my goal is covert changes with breasts and a subtle feminine changes that most wont notice. My plan is BO with Red Maca.

Hi I was going over all my blood tests and I was tested for Prolactin. My doctor questioned if I knew I grew breasts large enough to be obvious with large feminine areolas . He was concerned of hormone imbalance. My spouse was there and answered for me that I did it on purpose to grow breasts naturally. I mentioned I look much better this way and there is no imbalance I used herbal and natural methods. My Prolactin came back as a 10.1 out of 18. This score is normal in females but high in males. I read up on it and my issues with ED could be worsened by continued NBE and high Prolactin. Since I had a spinal cord injury I developed ED and was prescribed Viagra. I now take Horny goat weed Cialis and Viagra. Chemically I want to test my T and E. My Psychologist says I need to go back to my MD to get Cialis for daily use. I had been ordering direct from the Indian/Mexican/British pharmacies.

Something I`v often wondered but never gotten around to asking is; if you had a Orchi for example and as a result you could no longer produce sufficient hormones to stay healthy, would taking the likes of PM or other estrogen mimics do the same job as estradiol itself? could you go on to live a happy and health life just using phytoestrogens? or does it have to be identical to work?

Thanks! xx

This probably one for Lotus or other biochem experts, I`v been wondering what is the best sort of foods to eat during different parts of HRT cycling.

I`m Guessing that during the Progesterone part of the cycle that Proteins would be best, and the Estrogen part wpould be best served with greater carbs (like chocolate! for example )

my "Logic" and I could have this completely backwards or something, is that estrogen to lay down Fat, and Progesterone stimulates Tissue growth so would need more protein.
I know that`s a bit simplistic, but does it make any Scientific sense to do it this way? xx

I am starting to use one half teaspoon (24 mg) of progesterone cream made from Mexican wild yam (Prosperine at this web link: http://www.pieternel.com/hormone_cream_women.html) daily with the herbal breast cream that I have made with coconut oil and the following herbs from capsules: PM, fenugreek seed, and soy isoflavones as I have previously discussed. I have found that by adding the two types of creams together, I get a stronger tingling feeling in my breasts and nipples. Do you recommend that I use the progesterone cream daily, the last two weeks of the month, or other frequency? Do you think I should use it separate from my other breast cream or should I continue to combine the two together? Would the addition of white peony extract under the tongue also be helpful for breast growth?
