Meaning behind your user name (alias)
#1

Hello all,

For those who have an alias for their user name, how/why did you pick it for BN?

For me, flamesabers is in reference to one of the gunblade models used by the protagonist Squall Leonhart in the video game Final Fantasy VIII. I was a huge fan of the game during my teenage years. Out of all the different models that Squall uses, "flamesabers" felt the most right to use as an alias.

Mine's an old nickname from my childhood, derived from the fact that I had bad asthma and my wheezing was very loud.

Mine is split n "Shiraz" and "mn".
MN is simply a geographical indication of my home place (no, I am not from Minnesota, but kind of the same idea).

Shiraz is many things, but in my case it's the name of a nice fruity red wine.
The story behind it is somehow sad. About 20 years ago I just broke up with my GF and I started spending some time on TV/CD/TG... chats online. I was finally free to express myself a bit more, but sad because I was alone. Also, I was dead broke and the only thing I had in the house was a bottle of Shiraz. So I started drinking it while chatting or video-chatting with random people on the Internet, the alcohol-induced dizziness felt comforting. I think I was using some burner nickname at the time (something numerical) until someone asked me what my name was. In a "Mrs Doubtfire" moment, I looked around and decided to go with the only thing that was keeping me company at the time: Shiraz.
In the following years I learned that Shiraz is an actual name in several middle-eastern languages, and that it can be both masculine and feminine. It also means, in defferent places, things like "sweet" and "secret song". So, given the duality of the name, I decided that it was perfect for me and it just stuck ever since. It also has a "magical" sound to it, a bit like "Shazam!" but without a bad movie associated with it.

I've gone through more than one name here, I've been HelloTitty here and elsewhere. Name came before tits did in some odd hunch I had when first registering on Nexus. I still have it on Discord etc. Its obviously a word play with Hello Kitty.

Then Heaven's Night, that comes from Silent Hill 2, there's a character Maria in the game who's a product of James' imagination, a vision of his late wife if she would have been perfect. Maria was exotic dancer in a club in Silent Hill called Heaven's Night. There's also an expansion to the main game, Born From a Wish in which Maria is a playable character. That name of course explains how she came to be.

This name has carried over elsewhere too and I like it, I'm a huge fan of SH games and I really like the Maria character. Just like her, I am born from a wish of been born cis sex to begin with. I'm having my body change into better than anything I could have ever imagined... I can't think of a more fitting name. Hug

My alias came from my favorite pie, Huckleberry,  and of course wine being my favorite beverage.  I doubt that the combined tastes would be palatable.

Huckleberry are like a more flavorful wild blueberry, found mostly in the mountains. They take what seems like a lifetime picking a gallon of berries but so worth it.
Can't say I've heard of French Silk pie...
