A quick reminder about private messages
Private messages are intended to be private between the people involved. That's why they are called private messages.
Accordingly, please do not quote, repost, or otherwise share the contents of a private message on the public forum, unless you have the clear consent of the other party.
If the other party has agreed that you can share it, then fair enough. Otherwise the privacy of a private message should always be respected.
This is a basic courtesy to anyone who has messaged you. Thank you for your understanding.

in this case there was a user spewing hate against a person in private messages, in this cases in my opinion the truth should be brought into light if people are getting hurt.
now the thread is gone so there's no evidence left, conveniently.

For clarity, use of private messaging is optional.
This means you can only receive private messages if you choose to do so. If you prefer, you can disable private messages in your account settings.
Alternatively, you can enable private messaging in general, but block individual members if you don't want those members to contact you privately.

order at the cost of what, though? is the need for a forum greater than the need for everyone to be able to be here without being subjected to hate, bigotry, prejudice?

yes and i understood it as such, and that's the problem. the idea of civility is deeply rooted in colonialism. good citizens vs unwanted non-citizens.
