For those of us who are trans and are at any point in transitioning, what did you decide to do in terms of your employment. Did you come out at work, and stay and transition at your work. Did you decide to leave you job once you could not hide that you were transitioning any further, and then got a new job and from the get go you ensured that they new employer understood you were trans. 

I know this thread is a bit old, but I would like to share my input. I came out at work shortly after my legal name change was completed. At that point I was working at my full-time office job for about 3-4 months. Once I showed my court order documents to my supervisor, he took care of the rest with informing the remainder of the office about my new name and pronouns. Because of my long-time connection with a part-time job, the overwhelming majority of people I interact with know I'm trans (since I worked with them pre-transition). 99% interactions are positive. I sometimes have a few people still misgender me, and it was about two years ago I heard a transphobic remark that wasn't intended for me. 

I'm still working at that same job, but will have to find a new job this summer. Once I find a new job, I intend to go stealth as much as possible.
