Its fine. I first thought to ask the thread to be locked but I don't think its necessary.
Arguments are fine and its fine for it to get heated, even mild name calling is fine. Where I would draw the line is obviously downright evil trolling and trying to personally hurt someone or if things go into threats or spread to other sites or real life... There's been far worse here in past, its fine to argue when there's something worth an argument.
Its also totally fine to use ignore function and to just leave annoying threads. Taking part is compeltely voluntary.
